Five year totals for donations reaches the $14,000 mark

After 4 and one-half years of conducting charity pub crawls in the Lafayette area, the Pubcrawlers for a Cause have raised a total of $14,343, which has been donated to a total of 15 area charities. The total for each year are as follows:

2004 $1,352
2005 $2,429
2006 $3,577
2007 $3,557
2008 $3,428
Total $14,343

Many thanks go out to the various participants who have attended one or many crawls over the years. As we begin 2009 in an economic climate that is making it difficult for people to make ends meet, we will continue to attempt to raise money for those charities whose mission is to help people who are less fortunate. The Board sincerely hopes that you will be able to participate in this cause as you have in the past.

"Crawloween" brings new excitement to the Crawl scene

Thanks to a brilliant recommendation by Chanin Trosky, newest member of the Downtown Lafayette Pub Crawl Committee Board of Directors, it was decided to hold the first, and certainly not the last, "Crawloween" on Saturday, October 11th. Despite the short notice, more than half of the 42 participants were in costume, some of which were quite imaginative. A total of $465 was raised and donated to the Lafayette Meals on Wheels for assistance in providing meals to the elderly in the Lafayette area.

Based upon the fun generated by the costumes, the "Crawloween" figures to become a fixture in the pub crawl program.
